Women's Weekend Part 1

Girl's Weekend 2011!!
We decided on Granbury for this year's trip. Only a couple girls had ever been there so for most it was a new experience.
I found an awesome flat online and we rented it for the weekend. It was located right in the middle of the square and so vintage!
Pretty much the best place we have ever stayed!

Here's a pic of the front of it. Ours is the white one in the middle. The flat is located on the second level above the stores.

When you first walk in you see this super steep and long staircase and it smelled like grandma's house but in a good way.

In the living room was a great little library with a cool beauty and the beast ladder

It had very quirky little closets and rooms everywhere
The living room

They had a big bed in the middle with a curtain to set it apart at night as a room. Up the short little staircase is another little bedroom area and small little bathroom. Everything up there was just my size! I loved it!

On the other side of the flat was this awesome fully stocked kitchen! I would absolutely love to have a cute little kitchen like this!

In the big bathroom was a cute little vanity area

Girl's weekend turned to Women's weekend when we slapped on some flashy red lipstick and busted out the camera

We started to run out of things to do while waiting for Kate and Megann to get there so we enjoyed watching the sunset from our awesome rooftop.

Our lovely view of the square

Megann and Kate finally made it!!

I surprised Kate and Karissa with some birthday cupcakes

Saturday we got up early and sat out on the back porch drinking coffee and having "women talk"

The start of our day out!
We decided to head out early to try and beat the heat a little

We found a cool little shop with see saws

We did a little antique shopping

Katelyn had to take a break from antiquing so we took the opportunity for a photo opp

We decided to get out of the heat for the afternoon and try something new for a girls weekend and get ourselves pampered.

Some girls got their nails done and others got a massage.
Let's just say the Mia Bella left us with some interesting stories.

After we got our nails done we needed a photo shoot to try out the new moves we learned while waiting at the nail salon.

We thought we would finish our day out with some good ole fashioned ice cream at the little soda shop in the square.
I'm pretty sure we were the loudest people in the place because according to Mindy I get really funny when I'm around food.

After ice cream we headed back to the flat for the second part of our day!

birthdays and basketball

This past week had been so busy! Which is awesome because it made time fly and made Girl's Weekend get here fast!
This post is pretty long but lots of pics to capture all the good times!

Last Friday I had Hanna's 17th birthday party

Hanna's Ethiopian so she wanted to take everyone to experience Ethiopian food at a place her family goes to.

Here is the sample platter that they brought us to try since we were all newbies. I wish I could tell you what it all was but I forgot. I did however go out of my comfort zone and try it! I really enjoyed the beef (stuff in the middle) and some of the vegetables. A lot of it was a little spicy mostly because I'm a wimp but it was a really fun experience!

Here's all the girls that went. I love them so stinkin much!

Of course you have to do a somewhat goofy pic too

Here I am with the birthday girl. Hanna my favorite Diva!
(Isn't she lovely)
I brought her some flowers which is my gift to all of my girls whenever I go to one of their birthdays or special occasions.
There's just something about getting flowers that make you feel pretty and happy as a girl.
(I don't know maybe it's just me)

Sunday after church we brought the kittens out to play in the living room.
They are a little over 3 weeks old now and are very active!

Pug was very excited that he could finally play with his kittens!

Dad has become very attached to the white one (kidd). They have a special bond!
Pug always tries to get as close as he can to the kittens but surprisingly he's very careful around them.

Nap time

This one cracks me up!
The two striped ones like fighting each other

The kittens watching Puggy run back and forth across the living room.

Sunday night we watched the Mavs game and had a pizza party.
We each had our own pizzas and fixed them however we wanted.

Before they went into the oven

Finished project!
So good!

Bella and Dad watching the game

Obviously the Mavs won and Dad went crazy!

For some reason Bella loves when my Dad yells during sports games so she just stared him down while he was celebrating.

Monday night Tonka, Callie and Casey came over to see the kittens.

As you can see Callie's a natural cat whisperer.

I love this pic of Tonk so much!
So sweet!

Casey LOVES KITTIES!!

Wednesday night we celebrated Heather's 25th birthday before she left for New York.
Mom decided to make it a Hawaiian theme.

I was in charge of the cake. So of course I got cupcakes but I decided to order them from our friends bakery and have Heather's cat, which is also a tattoo she has, put on a few of the cupcakes.

They came out so cute!

Pug was ready for the party

Bella noticed I was taking pics and wanted in on the fun

Heather loved the daddy cat cupcakes

Landon actually got the day off! Wahoo
He made the lasagna and it was def. a big hit!

Singing Happy Birthday!
(this was taken right after cruze came sprinting over to the table and jumped in the chair to blow out Heather's candles)
Dad being goofy

Heather and Cole.
Very cute

Francis showing "Tedder" the birthday cakes he drew for her

So proud of his present

Landon and I got Heather a daddy cat look alike.
This is her genuine reaction to opening the present.

Just a bit obsessed...no big deal.

Funniest little twins and their cute mom.

We did Father's day early since Heather will be in New York. Plus we were all together so we gave dad his gift.
We made him a photo book since he whined about mom getting one for Mother's day and in his words " I never get those photo books!"

At one point he got a little teary eyed looking at the baby pics

It turned out awesome and he loved it. I would so recommend shutterfly to everyone because they turn out awesome!

Now it's officially GIRLS WEEKEND!!
I have a couple more things to do then we will be off to Grandbury till Sunday!
Can't wait to spend the weekend with Kate, Megann, Karissa and Mindy! Expect lots of pics soon!

P.S. To all the girls who went to camp this past week I can't wait to hear all about it! I missed you guys so much and so sad I wasn't able to go this year! But I did enjoy the pics I got from you!
