Pinterest Addiction

Since I got my new Iphone I have been addicted to an app called Pinterest! It has inspired me to make all kinds of things food, crafts, interior design type things.

A couple weeks ago I had an opportunity to try a few things out when we threw Mercy a going away party at church. Mercy is one of my senior girls who's parents are missionaries in Thailand and her and her family are heading back to the mission field.

Mercy is an amazing photographer and I wanted to use that inspiration for her going away party. I decided to set up a DIY photo booth for her party. It was super easy to do and turned out to be a hit at the party!

So here are the pics from the party!

Playing Catch Up

So as Hannah has brought it to my attention it has been quite a while since I updated my blog. So here's what has been going on in the last month. It's too much to write so I'll try to tell it through pictures.

First comes Jenni's baby shower here in Grapevine.

The 4 of us hosted the shower. 3 of the fab 4 ( I really wish we had a better name for ourselves) and Jenni's also pregnant sister Jill.

It was a morning shower which was really nice. I tried making something new since it was a little too early in the day for cupcakes. So I tried a fruit tart.

Here's the pic I found for inspiration online and then what they actually turned out like..not too different. Kind of proud of my not so creative self!

Here's the rest of the spread. Jill did a great job on the decorations. Colors inspired by Kade's nursery.

Last time it will just be the 4 of us! Next time there will be a little one in the pics! Can't wait!

Next was my trip to New Orleans. The Senior girls, Michelle and I took a little road trip to New Orleans to see Melissa run in the Junior Olympics.

We explored the different sites of New Orleans and tried all the typical food. It was so much fun minus the crazy heat!

Loved the flower balcony's and the interesting sites.

Melissa Won 1st place in her race! #1 in the nation...pretty exciting!!

Hanging out with Melissa and Sami before they headed back home.

Our last night in New Orleans we went to a recommended restaurant. Can't remember the name but it was fun. We couldn't leave New Orleans without trying the fried Alligator that Margaret kept talking about. We also did a little dancing.

The last day we took our time that morning and looked around the river walk mall. We were craving beignets again so we got some more and couldn't resist a powdered sugar fight!

I lost.

Margaret kept telling us about a restaurant called Strawns that her and her family always go to so we stopped on our way home for dinner. Unfortunately they weren't as excited to see us because they were about 30 minutes from closing. There was an angry little lady that made our experience quite interesting but hilarious!! Plus we got a free pie out of it!

So we decided to give the angry lady a break and told her we would just take it to go. We found a nice place to eat across the street and had a good laugh about it all.

Last but not least Landon and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! For some reason most people think it was our 3rd but nope not yet.

We didn't want to go far because we were both tired of driving and Heather told us about a deal her hotel was having so we decided to have a staycation type anniversary at the Stoneleigh hotel.

We both some how ended up getting similar presents. The anniversary is now known as the apple anniversary.

I got landon and Ipad for school and he got me an Iphone and some cupcake stuff!

We got to the hotel and had appointments in the spa for a couples massage. It was wonderful and very relaxing. Massages have kind of turned into our tradition for our anniversaries. We have done it every year since our honeymoon. I would say it's a pretty good tradition.

After the spa Heather took us on a tour of the Hotel before we headed to dinner.

Karissa and Heather joined us for dinner. The hotel was located really close to the West Village so we walked to the restaurant and rode the trolley. I love the trolley and it's free so everyone should go try it! It was fun and felt like we were in New York or something fun like that.

Now that Landon and I have learned more about each other after 2 years of marriage he is getting pretty good at surprises because he knows how much I love them!

This year he surprised me pretty much every time we left the room and came back there was a new surprise waiting for me.

When we came back from the spa he arranged for flowers in the room, then after dinner he had sparkling cider put in the room, and last but not least the last day before we checked out he had cupcakes brought up to the room courtesy of my sister and her friend complete with pics of our little family!

Well done Womack! Well done!

It was a really good anniversary and Landon and my sister did a great job making it really special!

So that's pretty much the wrap up on the end of summer!
